About the Role
We’re actively seeking a diligent Health & Safety Supervisor to satisfy the needs, containment and protection of our fish in Kagano, Rwanda and making sure that the Health & Safety procedures have been established and followed across and all aquaculture facilities including cages. The role is full-time based in Rwanda, Nyamasheke District and relocation will be necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Establish compliance policies and protocols on behalf of the company
- Develop and implement a compliance program to ensure the organization operates in accordance with the law
- Determine compliance metrics and establish a system for tracking them
- Remain up to date with the laws of Rwanda and update policies accordingly.
- Lead emergency response activities and the team in the workplace.
- Ensure the health, and safety of aquaculture personnel
- Ensure compliance with aquaculture health and safety as per the regulations.
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures
- Recruiting, training, and supervising security officers and guards
- Reviewing reports on incidents and breaches
- Investigating and resolving issues
Requirements
- 5 + Years prior experience in risk management or compliance rolls
- Military, marine, or Police experience required
- Superior attention to details in order to identify and correct risky practices
- Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing
- Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
- Should have a strong moral code and sense of ethics
- Must be able to swim
- Skippers license an added advantage
- CCTV knowledge essential
- Extensive knowledge of surveillance techniques
- Prepared to work night shifts out on the lake
- Padi open water one scuba licenses are added values
- Proven experience as Health & Safety supervisor or in the related area
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed and reliable
- Extensive experience in preventing illegal activities and performing access control
