Graduate Trainee – Sales Development Representative (B2B Tech Sales)
Location: Sunninghill, Johannesburg.
Compensation: Paid, plus performance incentives and structured mentorship.

As an SDR Trainee at CloudPlexo, you'll be the first point of contact between our cloud, AI, and cybersecurity solutions and the businesses that need them. You'll spend your days talking to people, decision-makers at real companies, learning how to spark interest, ask sharp questions, and turn a conversation into an opportunity. It's fast-paced, it's social, and it's one of the best ways to fast-track a career in tech, sales, or partnerships.
What you'll actually be doing
- Get hands-on with outreach. You'll learn how to run multi-channel prospecting across calls, email, and LinkedIn, and actually do it, at volume, from early on.
- Learn how to find the right people. You'll develop the skill of identifying and engaging decision-makers across industries, a core muscle every great salesperson needs.
- Master the art of qualification. You'll be trained to ask the right questions, spot genuine buying signals, and book well-qualified meetings for our Account Executives.
- Understand what a healthy pipeline looks like. You'll learn how to build and manage your own pipeline, and see in real time how your activity translates to business results.
- Find your sales voice. You'll get deep exposure to CloudPlexo's cloud solutions and learn how to communicate our value clearly and confidently to different audiences.
- Build professional habits that stick. From CRM hygiene to structured follow-ups, you'll develop the discipline and organisation that separates good salespeople from great ones.
- Grow fast, and be recognised for it. We set clear activity and performance targets so you always know where you stand, and we celebrate the trainees who rise to the challenge.
You'll thrive in this role if you
- Have recently graduated (0-2 years) with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Business Administration, Economics, Public Relations, Media, or a related field.
- Have 0 to 1 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, or communications (or a strong instinct for it).
- Are a confident, clear communicator, on the phone and in writing, and aren't fazed by cold calling.
- Stay organised under pressure and can juggle multiple conversations without dropping the ball.
- Are curious about technology and keen to learn what's behind the solutions you're selling.
- Are coachable, take initiative, and treat consistency as a skill, not a fluke.
- Have used a CRM before, or are simply ready to learn one.
