Job Circular: Occupational Medicine Practitioner at Driving Health
Driving Health is dedicated to providing quality and convenient medical care through mobile clinics to underserved communities within South Africa. We support both private companies and government institutes by delivering comprehensive healthcare services, including Optometry, Audiology, Primary Healthcare, and Oral Healthcare.

Position: Medical Practitioner
Location: Mobile clinics rotating within Gauteng, Kwa – Zulu Natal and Cape Town
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (No overtime)
Contract Start Date: July 2024
Qualifications
Medical Degree
Diploma in Occupational Health
Dispensing License
Requirements
Qualified Medical Doctor working as an Occupational Health Consultant, registered with the Health Professional Council of SA.
Knowledge / Competency Training on SANS 3000 - 4:2011
Must have Travel Medicine experience
Must have experience in Occupational Health
Knowledge in Quality Managements Systems
Must have indemnity cover, knowledge of governing laws surrounding Occupational Health Practice
Experience in sonography and maternal health is highly preferred.
Willingness to work closely with Primary Health Care Nurses on the mobile clinic.
Daily Operations
Start the day by cleaning and sanitizing the primary healthcare workstation.
Take a photo with signage at each new location.
Test all equipment and familiarize yourself with the specific models available.
Clinical Duties
Conduct health assessments on a mobile health clinic visiting companies.
Perform corrective medical interventions.
Diagnose diseases and create treatment plans to maintain or improve health.
Administer medication if available from the primary healthcare facility.
Provide scripts and referral letters.
Report any equipment malfunctions immediately.
Recognizing contagious diseases, malnutrition, and preventive measures.
Telemedicine consultations
Patient Management
Generate referrals if necessary and create a list of referred patients needing further observation.
Ensure referred patients are recorded accurately, including reasons for referral and follow-up details.
Use onboard software to capture all clinical findings and generate referrals during field visits.
Treat each patient in a friendly, professional manner, respecting cultural differences.
Documentation and Reporting:
Submit at least one good news story or case summary per week on patient interaction and feedback.
Ensure the workstation and equipment are sanitized with disinfectant at the end of each day.
