TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Financial Accountant: Forestry within the Timber division at Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
Job Summary
This role involves managing the full financial accounting function, including financial reporting, month-end and year-end processes, budgeting and forecasting, tax and compliance, audits, internal controls and financial analysis, while providing meaningful insights to support management decision-making and business performance.
Responsibilities and Duties-
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards

Supports month‑end and year‑end close processes including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations

Compile, review and analyse financial data to ensure completeness, accuracy and meaningful commentary on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, performing regular audits to detect and correct discrepancies
-
Record, verify and consolidate all financial transactions to ensure integrity of accounting data

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies
-
Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs

Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with tax regulations, assist with tax planning strategies and liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as and when required

Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long‑range financial planning in partnership with department heads and with organisational goals

Conduct variance analysis against budget/forecast and provide actionable insights to management

Design, implement and test internal control frameworks to safeguard assets and meet compliance standards

Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules and following up on audit findings

Identify financial risks and propose mitigation measurements and procedures

Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variance analysis and areas of improvement

Prepare detailed financial reports monthly for management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision making.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate financial insights and drive alignment

Communicate financial performance clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders
-
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team
Qualifications and Skills

Matric / Grade 12
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
-
CA(SA) or equivalent professional certification (advantageous)

3–5 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally in a corporate or multi‑entity environment

In‑depth knowledge of financial accounting standards (cross country will be an advantage), statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance

Experience with SAP, Oracle or any other accounting system and advanced experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros), Power BI
-
Exceptional analytical expertise and high attention to detail with strong problem‑solving ability
