Embedded/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineer
We are looking for a developer to join our team in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal to assist with the ongoing development, integration, and troubleshooting of our robotics software solutions. Our systems interact directly with robotic hardware, including AGVs, sensors, motor controllers, IO systems, CANbus devices, Linux-based controllers, HMIs, networks and servers.
The ideal person is someone with strong character, a committed work ethic, and the ability to think creatively and laterally. We are looking for a practical problem-solver who enjoys working at the intersection of software, electronics, automation, networking, servers and robotics.
The role will involve:
Developing and maintaining software for AGVs and autonomous robotic systems
Integrating software with sensors, motor controllers, IO modules, and industrial communication devices
Working with ROS2, Linux-based systems, CANbus, Ethernet and related technologies
Working with networks, servers, system communication and device connectivity
Troubleshooting real-world system issues on physical machines
Supporting testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement of robotic systems
Working closely with electrical, mechanical and automation teams
We’re looking for someone with:
C++ Coding experience
Python Coding experience.
ROS2 experience
Strong software development ability
Experience working with embedded systems
Knowledge of networks, servers and Linux-based systems
Experience or interest in robotics, automation, embedded systems or mechatronics
Practical problem-solving skills
A willingness to work hands-on with machines, not only behind a desk
The ability to diagnose whether an issue is software, hardware, communication, sensor, network, server or control related
Experience with Linux, Python, C++, ROS2, CANbus, Ethernet and related technologies

Position: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable based on relevant experience in the required skills, as well as overall industry and technical experience.
Pay: R15 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
