Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to help oversee our company's US accounting functions and financial operations based out of Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles and experience working for a multi-national company. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and implementing best practices in accounting processes. The Accounting Manager will report to a Cape Town based Financial Controller and manage 1 - 3 accounting professionals.

Requirements
Monthly Close and Financial Reporting:

Reconcile accounts monthly as part of the closing process
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to support decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop departmental budgets.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Monitor compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
Financial Operations:
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity management, optimizing working capital and investment strategies.
Process Improvement and Automation:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency through automation and technology.
- Implement best practices in accounting systems, software, and workflows to improve accuracy and productivity.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CA qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with US and EMEA tax laws and regulations, with experience in tax compliance and planning.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations in the US and EMEA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with Salesforce
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours a plus
