Job Description
-The Client Applications Specialist (Diamond Trading) will define and support the delivery of products and solutions across for client applications within the De Beers Midstream. As the bridge between technology and the business, the role will work with stakeholders across the globe to define the product vision, roadmap, and features to deliver continuous value to the Midstream Clients and business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managerial responsibility for System Analysts, managing work allocation, assessing performance, and supporting employee career development .
- Represent stakeholders in De Beers Midstream on new client product development.
- Work with business process owners and solution architect, to create and maintain a prioritized, version-controlled development roadmap and release schedule that meets the changing needs of the business.
- Provide leadership across several work streams, working closely with teams on delivery.
- Steer the development of product innovation and strategy by articulating technology benefits and constraints to business customers.
- Apply industry, market, and technology research to improve solutions.
- Manage system demand, challenge assumptions to requirements to focus on value, establishing practicality and better ways of working.
- Reviews and give input into system solution documents for quality assurance purposes.
- Gain consensus and buy-in from key stakeholders on all major decisions.
- Plan the product lifecycle, lead product release plans, and set expectations with the business on delivery.
- Plan the program increment and release cycles with an aim to deliver continuous value to the business.
- Plan and manage user acceptance testing.
- Act as a change agent by implementing new practices to bridge the gap between product and engineering.
- Act as the key specialist point of contact for service providers in problem solving and investigations related to priority 1 and 2 incidents.
- Work with third party services providers to ensure that the correct service levels are achieved. Track and monitor service provider process outputs to ensure that appropriate and effective service is delivered.
- Understand and manage the resource requirements with 3rd party support partners, in line with budget.
- Ensure the knowledge underpinning application/service delivery is documented, managed, and maintained.
- Participates in internal and external audit engagements and ensures that IT general controls are upheld in all aspects of the solutioning and support.
