Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented person to assist with creating printing plates for production. The role involves preparing artwork files, operating plate-making equipment (CTP/EV), checking print quality, and ensuring plates are ready for the printing press. Full training will be provided — no previous qualifications required.
Key Responsibilities Plate Making & File Preparation
- Prepare PDF artwork files for plate making.
- Check that artwork is clear, aligned, and print-ready.
- Make small edits such as updating:
- Batch / Lot numbers
- Dates
- Carton numbers
- Quantities
- Ensure fonts, layout, and sizing remain consistent with original artwork.
CTP / EV Machine Operation
- Operate the plate-making (CTP/EV) machine.
- Load plates and monitor the imaging process.
- Develop and finish printing plates.
- Label and organize completed plates for the printing department.
Quality Control
- Inspect plates for defects, damage, or image issues.
- Ensure plate quality meets production standards.
- Report any artwork or machine problems immediately.
Workflow & Production Support
- Follow daily production schedules.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Assist with basic file storage and job archiving.
- Work closely with the printing and design teams.

Working Environment
- Print production / factory environment.
- Standing and light lifting may be required.
- May involve shift or overtime work during busy periods.

Pay: R6 000,00 - R8 000,00 per month
