A leading public sector organisation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join its Space Science and Technology Programme as a Deputy Director: Earth Observations, based in Pretoria. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of Earth Observation policies, programmes and applications that address national user requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, review and implementation of Earth Observation strategies.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and identify user requirements.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of Earth Observation applications.
- Monitor funded projects and programme implementation.
- Provide strategic support, technical inputs and oversight on programme planning and reporting.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local, regional and international stakeholders.
- Promote human capital development, awareness initiatives and industry growth within the Earth Observation sector.

Minimum Requirements
- A three year Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering.
- An Honours Degree or postgraduate qualification in Remote Sensing or Geospatial Sciences will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant experience in Earth Observations.
- Sound knowledge of the Space Science and Technology landscape, Earth Observation systems and the National System of Innovation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, report writing, analytical and problem solving skills.
