Senior Operations Supervisor – Day Shift
07:00 to 17:00 Monday - Friday
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2-4 years of supervisory experience in the Freight Industry.
- Grade 12 or additional certification will be an advantage
- Sound knowledge of loading and off-loading principles
- Understanding safe workplace practices and requirements
- Administration and organisational skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Sound knowledge of the KwaZulu-Natal area
- Must be a team player and adapt to change easily
- Parcel perfect knowledge will be advantageous (training provided for internal candidates)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills ( Proficient in English & Afrikaans)
- Fully computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Paint, Photo, etc.)
- Must be able to work shifts .
Key Performance Areas:
- Ensure that the waybills/consignments are dispatched via various vehicles to the correct destinations
- Ensure all staff are at work and do roll call
- Ensure all local vehicles and Line haul vehicles is loaded correctly and depart the branch as per agreed target
- Ensure optimum utilization of linehauls
- Ensure completion of daily checklists on local vehicles and forklifts
- Ensure the correct allocation of vehicles on bulk loads
- Take customer calls for collection, deliveries, and general queries
- Ensure housekeeping of branch as per the agreed standard
- Ensure that local fleet is kept clean
- Ensure that the agreed operational procedures are adhered to by all
- Attend to all required operational administration, Accident claim forms
- Handle all General Workers/Drivers staff issues and report them to the Operations Manager
- Control goods on floor in the warehouse
- Report to Operations Manager
- Maintain discipline in operations
- Plan daily with Operations Manager on routing/scheduling / load plans for the night
- Ensure the warehouse is open and closed as required daily
