VACANCY: CHILDCARE SUPPORT PRACTITIONER
Rainbow Children’s Village | Westdene, Johannesburg
Rainbow Children’s Village is looking for a compassionate, responsible and reliable Childcare Support Practitioner to provide care and supervision to children in our residential home.
This is a part-time residential position, with accommodation provided while on duty. The role requires rotational shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing care, supervision and emotional support to children
- Maintain a safe, structured and supportive home environment
- Support children with daily routines, school preparation and homework
- Prepare meals and assist with the day-to-day running of the household
- Monitor children’s health, safety and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate daily, medication and incident records
- Communicate effectively with management, social workers, schools and other stakeholders
- Follow all safeguarding and child-protection procedures
Minimum Requirement
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
Preferred Requirements
· Relevant childcare or social services training/qualification
· First Aid certification
· Experience working with vulnerable children
