About the Role
Barrs Pharmaceuticals is looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing and packaging equipment within our pharmaceutical facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing downtime, ensuring equipment availability and supporting continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and mechanical failures.
- Diagnose and repair faults on production equipment.
- Maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors and associated equipment.
- Support equipment modifications, installations and upgrades.
- Complete maintenance documentation and equipment records.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety and engineering standards.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- N4-N6 Mechanical Engineering Certificate or equivalent.
- Trade Test Certificate (Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Millwright or related Mechanical Trade).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Mechanical Technician, Fitter or Millwright within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience conducting preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical failures and breakdowns.
- Experience working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and production equipment.
Advantageous
- Experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting OSD manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Experience with HVAC, compressed air and utility systems.
- GMP-regulated environment experience.
