Introduction:
GMSL Group (PTY) Ltd, located outside Durbanville is seeking a reliable, organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Workshop Manager Assistant.
We are a manufacturing/engineering company that specializes in the fuelling industry.
GMSL Group (Pty) Ltd started in 2018, based on a need in the fuel industry for a single turn-key solution to operational and asset – procurement, maintenance and training.
With more than 10 years’ experience in the transportation and fuel industry, we know the complexities and strain placed on the efficient control of assets in the field required by our clients to ensure you stay operational with the right product at the right time.
The successful candidate will support the Workshop Manager with the daily administration, coordination and general operation of the workshop. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Workshop Manager with the daily planning and coordination of workshop activities.
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, recordkeeping and document preparation.
- Assist with preparations of cost estimates and assist with quotations for repairs, maintenance and project work.
- Monitor job progress and assist with updating workshop schedules.
- Capture and maintain accurate job cards, labour hours and material usage.
- Assist with ordering parts, materials and workshop consumables.
- Follow up with suppliers and sub-contractors regarding pricing and delivery dates.
- Assist with equipment maintenance schedules.
- Compile reports and supporting documentation when required.
- Ensure workshop documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Perform general ad hoc duties as requested by the Workshop Manager or management team.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in an administrative, workshop or technical environment will be advantageous.
- Experience with cost estimating, quotations or job costing will be beneficial.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A basic understanding of mechanical, electrical or workshop operations will be advantageous.
- A valid driver’s licence will be beneficial.
