- A Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing / Supply Chain / Commerce is highly recommended.
- Training in Purchasing (P2P) or Procurement (Sourcing) will be an advantage.
- Ideally having at least five years of Procurement or Purchasing experience, with some specific experience in commodity buying and contract implementation / management.
- Experience with issuing and evaluating tender (RFQ) enquiries, fact-based negotiation, and analytical capabilities would be an advantage.
- Good communication, inter-personal, influencing, dealing with conflict and criticism skills and aptitude (EQ).Strong negotiating and numerical skills.
- A high level of integrity, ethics and attention to detail.
- Computer literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, and a purchase-to-pay transactional system. Knowledge and experience with Maximo, or best-of-breed Procurement systems e.g. Coupa, Ivalua, etc., would be an advantage.
- Experience with spend analysis in delivering value opportunities will be an advantage.
