Leading Health & Safety Company based in Bellville in need of a Construction Health & Safety Officer with a minimum of 3 – 4 years’ to start immediately. You will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient Health & Safety operations for various clients in Cape Town.
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide administrative support within the office environment
Perform data-entry, documentation, printing, and filing duties
Manage and distribute HSE documents as may be requested
Compile and prepare reports on monthly basis as may be requested
Assist with compiling safety files as per requests submitted from Clients
Assist in compiling Safe Working Procedures, Risk Assessments, and detailed method statements for the purpose of improving the Company’s Level of information and knowledge
Develop new templates to improve systems and/or procedures as may be requested by the Employer
Develop Safety Plans, Traffic Management Plans, Fall Protection Plans, and similar documentation as may be requested
Deliver safety files to Clients
Attend Site safety meetings
Attend safety audits on sites on behalf of our clients
Conduct safety file implementation on behalf of our Clients with their employees on a specific site. You must be well spoken
Conduct site inspections as per the Client’s request and furnish a completed report to the Client
Assist / conduct site accidents / incidents as may be requested. Compile comprehensive report on company template
Scan safety files of Project specific sites
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Overtime will be required as the need arises
Qualifications:
Matric / Grade 12
3 – 4 years’ experience in the construction industry
Must be registered by South African Council for the Project & Construction Management Professions (SCPCMP) as a CHSO
NEBOSH / SAMTRAC
HIRA
Incident Investigation / RCAT
Fall Protection Plan Developer
CHSO may be considered
Must have good knowledge of the OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and all other applicable regulations
Experience in scaffolding as an inspector is adv
First Aid certificate adv
Computer Literate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Valid Driver’s License (code 8)
Must be medically fit. This would include not to have a fear of heights / vertigo
Sober habits- must pass an annual medical and drug test
You may be required to work away within South Africa as a placement or as a placement on a construction site within Cape Town area
