The Service Manager will lead field service activities for Southern Africa to support company business objectives associated with the service of biosciences and ADX (Advanced Diagnostics) product portfolios. They will be responsible for providing operational oversight into technical service activities to ensure efficiency is at the heart of our service delivery, enhancing the customers experience and ensuring customer satisfaction in the assigned region.

Managing financial performance including driving P&L & control costs.

Leading & developing teams, mentoring and training staff and managing long-term personnel goals/objectives and individual development plans.

Implement strategic operations, delegate tasks and enforce service policies, procedures and quality assurance programs.

Handle escalations & customers, resolve issues and address on-site technical issues and communicate with customers.

Collaborating across business units to support sales and cross functional alignment with commercial, applications, quality, logistics, and Project Managers.

Drive continuous improvement, optimize processes and work with Field Service Leads to implement regional improvements.

Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Engineering, Biomedical Instrumentation, or Business Administration).

Minimum 5 years of customer service experience with strong technical and analytical acumen, high attention to detail and problem solving skills.

Direct experience leading teams, managing projects, and proven ability to manage strict customer expectations (like hospital downtime SLA agreements) alongside subordinate expectations.

Active enthusiasm for coaching, mentoring, and educating direct reports on new, highly complex medical products.

Strong verbal and written communication skills across cross-functional internal local teams, international business units, and external healthcare clients.

High mobility, requiring 25-30% travel across the assigned territory for site audits, customer interventions, and team meetings.

High emotional intelligence and organizational skills to pivot strategies rapidly in a high-pressure clinical environment.
