Location: Cape Town (hybrid)
Hours: 45 per week
Reports to: Marketing Lead
About the role:
We are hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist to take ownership of campaign execution across our brand portfolio. The role suits someone with solid hands-on marketing experience who wants to run campaigns end-to-end, work closely with AI tools as part of their daily craft, and grow into greater responsibility over time.
You will work alongside the Marketing Lead and the wider team (design, video, paid ads, SEO, data) to deliver campaigns that drive growth across our subscription, education, and product lines.
What you'll do:
Campaign delivery
- Build sales pages, opt-in pages, and supporting funnels from concept through to launch, working with design and development resources
- Write and produce campaign copy using AI tools with strong brand judgment (email, ads, landing pages, social)
- Build and schedule campaign emails in ActiveCampaign
- Support live event campaigns end-to-end (Instagram Lives, workshops, lead magnet events), including registration flow, email sequences, and follow-up
Analysis and reporting
- Monitor campaign performance across email, paid, and organic channels using ActiveCampaign, GA4, and WooCommerce data
- Interpret performance results and translate them into recommendations on creative, copy, and targeting
- Set up and read A/B tests on copy, subject lines, and landing pages
- Contribute to the bi-weekly marketing performance review with structured observations on what is working and what is not
AI-driven content production
- Produce marketing copy, ad variants, and creative briefs using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, and others)
- Maintain a high bar on brand voice and recognize AI patterns that do not fit (we have detailed editorial guidance and adherence is non-negotiable)
- Identify, test, and integrate new AI tools into the marketing workflow
Cross-functional coordination
- Brief and coordinate with designers, video editors, and developers via ClickUp
- Hold deadlines and chase collaborators when needed
- Liaise with subject-matter experts for sign-off on copy and creative
What we're looking for:
Experience
- Three-plus years in performance, growth, or digital marketing with hands-on campaign experience
- Demonstrated track record of campaign ownership, including writing copy and building pages
- Strong copywriting or marketing-assets portfolio with examples of recent campaign work
- Hands-on experience with at least one major ESP (ActiveCampaign preferred; Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or comparable considered)
- Working knowledge of WooCommerce or a comparable e-commerce platform
- Comfortable interpreting marketing performance data across GA4, ActiveCampaign, and WooCommerce, and able to translate observations into recommended next actions
- Working understanding of attribution concepts, including the limitations of last-click attribution
- Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager (ability to brief, review, and interpret performance)
Analytical skills
- Comfortable reading performance data and drawing meaningful insights
- Experience reading conversion funnels and identifying where they are leaking
- Able to design and interpret A/B tests with a basic understanding of sample size and significance
- Treats performance data as direct input into creative and copy decisions
AI fluency (essential)
- Uses LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) as a daily working tool
- Can write effective prompts and refine outputs iteratively
- Has a developed eye for AI-generated text that does not match brand voice, and can edit it into brand without rewriting from scratch
- Knows how to set up and tune a Claude project or custom GPT for specific tasks
- Has explored AI tools beyond chat (image generation, video tools, automation platforms)
Brand and category fit
- Comfortable working in the women's health and pelvic health space (no squeamishness around clinical or anatomical topics)
- Able to write in a register that is direct, peer-to-peer, and clinically grounded
- Respect for editorial standards and detailed brand guidelines
Working style
- Self-directed; can be given a campaign brief and ship it
- Comfortable working asynchronously across time zones
- Holds deadlines for themselves and follows up with collaborators when needed
- Asks specific, well-formed questions
- Comfortable making decisions and recommendations rather than presenting options for someone else to choose between
Nice-to-haves
- Background in education, wellness, fitness, or health-adjacent brands
- Experience marketing a subscription or membership product
- Experience marketing a certification or professional training program
- Affiliate program experience (AffiliateWP or comparable)
What success looks like:
By 30 days. Briefed on the brand, products, audience, and current campaigns. Owning at least one live campaign deliverable. Set up in all systems (ClickUp, ActiveCampaign, WooCommerce, Google Drive, Slack).
By 90 days. Running campaign deliverables independently with light review. Producing AI-generated copy that meets brand standards without heavy rework. Contributing performance observations to bi-weekly marketing reviews. Established working rhythm with the team.
By six months. Running parts of campaigns and small marketing projects independently from brief to launch. Trusted to make day-to-day execution decisions within the brand and commercial framework. Bringing recommendations to performance reviews, not just observations.
