We are looking for a dynamic, strategic, and commercially driven Sales & Brand Executive to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who is already active in the veterinary and pet retail industry, or who has a strong understanding of the sector combined with a natural flair for sales, relationship building, and brand growth.
This is not an order-taking role. We are looking for a sales professional who understands that long-term success is built on disciplined call cycles, strategic account development, identifying opportunities, overcoming objections, and delivering sustainable portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and open new accounts within the pet specialty sector, including:
- Veterinary practices
- Vet shops
- Independent pet stores
- Franchise and corporate retailers
- Wholesalers
- Allied professionals such as groomers, trainers, behaviourists, breeders, and boarding facilities
- Drive strategic growth across new, existing, and dormant accounts.
- Build and maintain a strong network of referral sources and sales leads.
- Execute disciplined monthly call cycles to support product launches, promotions, account growth, and customer development.
- Apply consultative selling techniques to increase basket size and maximise portfolio penetration.
- Understand customer and end-user needs, recommending solutions that add value to their business.
- Present products confidently through staff training, in-store demonstrations, merchandising, and solution-led brand presentations.
- Manage objections professionally and think on your feet in customer-facing environments.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication, relationship management, and post-sale support.
- Analyse sales performance, customer activity, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Submit accurate daily call reports, weekly planners, and monthly sales analyses.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Conduct regular market research to maintain brand competitiveness.
- Maintain full compliance with company policies, reporting standards, and CRM requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' field sales experience. Experience selling into the veterinary, pet specialty, FMCG, pharmaceutical, agricultural, or related sectors will be advantageous.
And/Or
- Minimum 5 years' experience working within the veterinary or pet industry, even if not in a sales role, provided you have a strong commercial aptitude and are looking to transition into field sales.
In addition:
- Proven track record of new business development and account growth.
- Relevant diploma or degree will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Must be willing and able to travel to the Free State and undertake business trips to Mpumalanga approximately every 3 months, including overnight stays.
- Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
