Job Description - The General Porduction Operatives role is to process and produce meat products. Replenish any low or out-of-stocks. Quickly and accurately do repetitive tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities - This position is responsible for making sure products are processed and prepared quickly and in an efficient manner, while adhering to strict quality and food safety standards. All the while following the cutting and production schedules.
- Cut, trim, and grind meat according to specifications.
- Weigh, fill, press and package meat products.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety SOPs.
- Keep accurate records of meat processed for batching.
- Inspect all meat used in processing, removing bones and sinew.
- Help complete block tests.
- Follow the FIFO principles for all products.
- Store meat properly to maintain freshness and quality.
- Operate machinery such as mincers, smokers, cookers, mixers, and fillers.
- Prepare special cuts of meat upon request.
- Recommend meat preparation methods and recipes.
- Assist with making sausage and other cured meats.
- Follow block test procedures accurately.
- Monitor product quality and report any defects or irregularities.
- Ensure correct labelling and product identification procedures are followed.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory counts.
- Minimise waste and maximise product yield.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report faults immediately.
- Assist with receiving and checking incoming raw materials.
- Ensure production targets are met according to schedules.
- Follow company hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Maintain cold chain procedures during processing and storage.
- Assist the Deli staff with keeping the shop shelves stocked
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay: From R30,23 per hour
