Requirements:
·PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, Waste Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (minimum qualification).
· Professional registration with SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions) is mandatory.
· Registration with EAPASA (Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa) will be an added advantage.
· A minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience in chemical and waste management.
· Extensive knowledge of South African environmental legislation, waste management regulations, chemical safety legislation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary projects and technical teams
Job Description:
· Project management and compiling Environmental Strategic Projects.
· Deliver Waste Management Projects i.e., Integrated Waste Management Plans (IWMPs), Waste Classification, Waste Licence Application/ permitting, Industrial Symbiosis, Environmental Waste Status quo report.
· Undertake fieldwork, and develop technical reporting, comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc.
· Undertake strategic Environmental/ Waste Management projects i.e., EMF, Review of Environmental and waste by-laws, developing feasibilities studies etc.
· Leading and managing chemical and waste management projects from planning through to successful completion.
· To provide strategic planning for Sustainability, & Growth Model, pivoted towards Business Development and Bidding.
· Developing and implementing effective project management systems, governance processes, and service delivery models.
· Providing technical leadership and specialist expertise in chemical management, hazardous and general waste management, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
· Driving business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and the expansion of chemical and waste management services.
· Managing client and stakeholder relationships while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
· Leading and mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams, including oversight of fieldwork and project implementation.
· Ensuring quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and the effective implementation of environmental protection measures.
· Conducting research, data analysis, and technical investigations to support strategic environmental and waste management solutions.
