VACANCY: AREA SALES MANAGER (REF: ASM024)
The Donald Brown Group of Companies is a dynamic organization in the salt industry which is comprised of various related companies. The Group is looking for an Area Sales Manager to manage, motivate and direct Sales Agents and Distributors in the Gauteng, Great North area and parts of the Northwest.
The ideal candidate will be a presentable, self-motivated individual with extensive experience and knowledge in the Retail sector.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To manage Retail Agents, visit retail outlets as well as independents to make sure that our stock is packed, counts are correct, PI labels are on the shelf.
- To rectify any concerns in the stores, be hands on and willing to pack shelves when needed.
- Achievement and management of Sales Targets, GP’s and Budgets.
- Management of automated ordering systems.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, ensuring visibility of products, achievement of sales targets against budget.
- Develop new business opportunities within the Retail and independent channels.
- Meetings with agents and representatives monthly.
- Country trips will be required from time to time so must be willing to spend time away from home.
Knowledge and Skills
- Grade 12.
- Sales & Marketing related tertiary education beneficial.
- Experience in FMCH retail with a history of calling on retail stores, SPAR experience will be a bonus.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regional FMCG role.
- Computer literacy: MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel.
- Courses in negotiation, sales management, key account management would be ideal.
- Valid Driver’s License.
