Role Summary
The Product Cataloguer is responsible for analysing product descriptions and classifying products according to established cataloguing standards. This includes creating and maintaining structured product records using a standard Noun, Modifier, and Attribute methodology to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of product data across systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse product descriptions, specifications, drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Identify and assign the correct Noun and Modifier classifications.
- Capture and maintain product attributes in accordance with defined taxonomy and cataloguing standards.
- Ensure product descriptions are accurate, consistent, and free from duplication.
- Perform quality checks and resolve data inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to clarify product information.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cataloguing standards, rules, and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience in product data management, cataloguing, classification, taxonomy, or master data management.
- Ability to interpret technical product information and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management systems.
- Good written communication skills and ability to follow structured standards.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with ERP, EAM, or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Oracle).
- Familiarity with industrial, engineering, maintenance, or procurement environments.
Knowledge of taxonomy development, data governance, or material master data processes.
Pay: R80,00 - R100,00 per hour
