Our team is recruiting a Financial Accountant for a private hospital group. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities. Also, oversee the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments.
Further, be responsible for reporting on cost, productivity, margins, and company expenditures, including public reporting of a company or organization’s financial status. In addition, the candidate will prepare detailed statements and communicate financial information to company leaders and other employees.
Essential Requirements:
·A relevant 3-year B Com degree majoring in Financial Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Financial Accounting (NQF level 7)
·SAIPA qualification will be an advantage
·A minimum of 3 – 5 years of financial management experience and 3 years at supervisory level
·Proven financial accounting experience and SAP experience
·Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
·Excellent accuracy and good communication skills
·Excellent interpersonal relationships and strong leadership abilities
·Initiative and independent decision making
KEY OUTPUTS
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the supervision of the accounting function and providing full financial support within the Hospital.
·Prepare the Hospital financial and management statements according to group guidance on International Financial Reporting Standards by consistently applying Advanced Health’s accounting, supported by reasonable estimates.
·Produce accurate and timeous financial and management analysis and reporting.
·Analyse and report on balance sheet reconciliations, cost and bench-marking implications and results.
·Prepare management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and journals.
·Analyse and report on budget variances.
·Compilation and submission of departmental cost centre reports and liaising with line managers on budget and expenditure monitoring.
·Maintenance of general ledger accounts and preparation of accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
·Maintenance of the integrity, accuracy and completeness of respective accounting records and information systems.
·Analytical reviews of costs and expenditure to aid EXCO and line management in decision making.
·Display functional knowledge and understanding to support with the submission of statutory submissions such as VAT201 and IT14SD.
·Maintain fixed assets register, perform physical asset verifications, and compile reconciliations.
·Coordinate counts, perform spot checks, and adjust accordingly in GL.
·Managing of risk and reviewing of internal controls as well as compilation of risk reviews.
·Ensure complete familiarisation of Advanced Health financial policies, as revised from time to time.
·Supervision of staff in Finance Department.
·Monthly creditor’s reconciliations are checked and authorized according to procedure.
·Cost allocation of invoices is checked to ensure accuracy and completeness.
·Control accounts are reconciled, and problems addressed according to guidelines.
·Standard and adjustment journals (sales, salaries, bad debts, unclaimed over-payments, provisions, etc.) are compiled, checked, and correctly processed according to set standard.
·Managing monthly statistical information and VAT returns.
·Management reports are compiled with relevant information and finalised as soon as possible.
·Effectively assisted the financial manager at all levels.
·Using Pastel daily.
SKILLS PROFILE
·A relevant 3-year B Com degree with Financial Accounting 3 or Advanced diploma or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification.
·A SAIPA qualification will be advantageous.
·A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ financial management experience.
·Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Financial Department, at least 3 years at a supervisory capacity
·Proven financial accounting experience.
·Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
·Excellent attention to detail
·Excellent interpersonal relationships and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
·SAP essential
·Initiative and independent decision making
