Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join our team at LUCCA. As a Special Needs Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs. Your passion for inclusive/special education and your ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student requirements will be highly valued in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver inclusive and differentiated lessons tailored to the specific needs and abilities of students with various disabilities.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
- Create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Assess students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on students' development.
- Attend professional development sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in special education.
- Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid SACE Certificate.
- Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred, ages 12+.
- Strong knowledge of different disabilities and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse abilities.
