Buyer & Procurement Assistant - Top Cut Engineering
We are a steel manufacturing company based in Triangle Farm, Stikland, and we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer & Procurement Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing a variety of raw materials, as well as managing ad hoc procurement requirements. We are seeking someone with strong analytical abilities, a keen awareness of industry trends, and a passion for delivering efficient turnaround times to support operational needs. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, together with a resourceful and self-motivated approach, are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Management
- Research and identify potential suppliers.
- Build, develop, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials and products.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements where required.
- Assist with general procurement administration and reporting.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' procurement or buying experience, preferably within the steel industry.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Proficiency in Pastel, MS Office, and Google Sheets is essential.
- Strong knowledge of steel descriptions and industry terminology will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
