Ceramic Anilox Engravers (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our finance team.
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with a genuine passion for accounting and finance. The successful candidate will be capable of managing the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance, including the full creditors and debtors responsibilities & funtions, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and professionalism. This role is suited to someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance.
- Manage the full debtors function, including invoicing, receipts, payment allocations, collections, debtor reconciliations, and maintaining the debtor age analysis.
- Manage the full creditors function, including supplier processing, reconciliations, payment preparation, and maintaining the creditor age analysis.
- Process and reconcile daily cashbooks and bank accounts.
- Prepare and process supplier payments.
- Process month-end journals.
- Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Prepare VAT reconciliations and assist with VAT submissions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes & procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, auditors, and internal departments to resolve financial queries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and established accounting practices.
- Assist the Financial Manager with ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related financial qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' recent bookkeeping experience.
- Proven Experience working up to Trial Balance is essential.
- Proven experience managing the full debtors and creditors functions is essential.
- Current working knowledge of Pastel Partner is non-negotiable.
- Previous working experience using Xero Accounting Software will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices & processes.
- Proven experience with cashbook processing, bank reconciliations, journals, VAT reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SARS eFiling and VAT submissions.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
- Candidates must currently reside in Durban or the surrounding areas.
