POSITION PURPOSE
The Head of Value Added Services oversees the Value Added Services (VAS) and Digital departments, develops the VAS and Digital strategy and teams in support of GMF’s strategy, and enhances its service offering and GMF’s reputation in the market.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
− Oversee the quality and timely delivery of all VAS and Digital products, services, and project requires a reasonable understanding of local and international reporting frameworks, standards and trends
− Optimise and improve workflow processes and procedures, and oversee workflow adherence
− Financial management, budgeting and reporting in support of the Finance team’s responsibilities
− Company and/or department initiatives and company culture
− Develop VAS and Digital strategies in support of GMF strategies
Client projects Take the lead on selected top tier client projects and ensure timely and high-quality deliverables – this requires a reasonable understanding of local and international reporting frameworks and standards
Strategy and company growth Implement GMF and department strategies and monitor its execution. This includes, inter alia:
− Holistic reporting and disclosure service offerings of the VAS and Digital teams including inter alia: o interim and annual reporting; o integrated reporting; o environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting; o digital reporting and disclosures; and o website development and maintenance.
− Product and service development and upselling − Leading collaboration projects with external partners in South Africa and abroad
− Staying abreast of competitor services and products to ensure GMF stays relevant and competitive Talent and resource management
− Appropriate allocation of resources to suit client requirements while being mindful of continuity, where relevan
t − Appropriate management of freelancer utilisation and quality, and the network of freelancers − Human resource management including balancing resource workload and overseeing employee wellbeing, training, and performance management

− Able to work after hours QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS
− Proficient in all forms of communication in English. Additional fluency in other languages will be an advantage
− A relevant business management degree with Honours/Masters degree, CA(SA) or equivalent qualifications
− Experience o Minimum of five years’ experience gained in a similar position, preferably in financial reporting agency or, within a listed corporate environment which publishes Integrated Annual Report and other reports required by the International Reporting Framework and the JSE and/or other stock exchanges.
Minimum of five years managing diverse teams at a middle to senior level o Knowledge of project management and business management principles and methodology o Financial experience, including budgeting and basic financial reporting
