Role Summary:
PwC has an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Architect who has extensive working experience within the Retail Banking space. This role will give the successful incumbent an opportunity to work on innovative projects while leveraging new and advanced technologies to drive transformative solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing, and overseeing comprehensive banking solutions that align with our clients’ strategic goals. You will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and hands-on expertise to ensure the successful deployment and optimisation of the retail banking technologies.
Qualifications / Certifications required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related.
Relevant certificates in Banking or Technology (TOGAF, PMP, BIAN)
Experience required:
Minimum 8-10 years working experience in Banking Solution Architecture or related roles
Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale banking projects.
Experience in a senior or leadership position within a banking-focused team.
Extensive knowledge of retail banking processes, systems, and technologies.
Strong understanding of banking architecture, integration, and best practices
Experience with banking implementation methodologies (Agile and Waterfall)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python or C#
Experience with banking software (SAP Banking, Temenos, Finacle)
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proven ability to lead, mentor and motivate project teams
Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities of role:
Strategic Planning and Solution Design:
Develop and maintain the overall retail banking architecture strategy in alignment with business goals
Design end-to-end retail banking solutions that meet business requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing systems
Create architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and project plans for retail banking implementations
Implementation and Integration:
Lead the implementation of retail banking solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards
Oversee the integration of retail banking systems with other enterprise applications and third-party solutions
Ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability
Technical Leaderships:
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams, including developers, analysts and consultants
Review and approve technical designs, configurations, and custom developments
Ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of retail banking solutions
Stakeholder Engagement”
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, translating them into technical specifications
Present architectural solutions and project updates to senior management and other stakeholders
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for retail banking initiatives.
Performance Optimisation:
Monitor the performance of retail banking systems and implement strategies for optimisation
Identify and address potential issues and bottlenecks in the banking environment
Ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of retail banking solutions
Documentation and Compliance:
Stay current with advancements in retail banking technologies and emerging tools
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of retail banking solutions
Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to support retail banking projects.
