PURPOSE
The purpose of a Financial Manager (CA) is to lead the accounting activities for all companies within the Barron Group. To ensure adherence to financial policies (internal and external), statutory/tax requirements, leading month-end closing process, and coordinating financial operations (Shared Services for Treasury, A/P and General Ledger transactions.
JOB OBJECTIVES
Treasury
-
Responsible for authorising issue of cash, loan & or deposit; maintaining and authorising on the limits & approvals of online banking profiles & payments; and drafting resolution of updated signatories for compliance & authorise accordingly.
Debt Ageing
-
Responsible for reviewing and authorising debt ageing & writing off bad debt.
Accounts Payable

Accountable for booking FEC with bank for foreign suppliers.
Payroll Input & Processing
-
Accountable for authorising payments & transfers - release 1 & 2 and to review employee tax submissions (EMP201).
Inventory Management
-
Responsible for running snapshot, count stock, reviewing actual stock vs input on system. Performing a variance report, recount and investigate, if applicable. Process stock adjustment journal and a reconciliation report and rerun snapshot
Month-end reporting

Responsible for approving loans and to provide recons & supporting documents to Auditors and resolve escalated queries. To prepare & consolidate trial balance month-end report and review accordingly

Responsible for preparing & reviewing additional month-end reports (i.e. Cost of sales, packaging, working capital & cash flow forecast report)

Accountable for reviewing Annual Financial statements and variance of stock report
Risk & Compliance Governance

Responsible for calculating annual / monthly income tax, reviewing calculation and creating income tax form on e-filling

Responsible for reviewing PAYE, VAT UIF, SDL and submitting on e-filing

Accountable for maintaining the risk register by delegating actions that should be taken & following up

Responsible for preparing the risk and compliance meeting pack, attending the committee meeting and evaluating the compliance of King III Compliance/COSO and implementing corrective Governance accordingly
SARB Approval

Responsible for reviewing and approving 12 months extension of imports report and send to revenue bank
Staff Management
-
Responsible for managing a team of accountants
