Hero Serv Pty Ltd is seeking a General Manager: Sales to spearhead our Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) and Catering service offerings across South Africa. In this pivotal role, you will lead the sales function end-to-end, focusing on new business acquisition, key account management, tender strategies, and pricing to solidify our market position as a trusted single-source provider of workspace living solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Business Growth: Develop and execute the national sales strategy aligned with company growth targets, identifying and prioritizing target sectors for integrated FM solutions.
- New Business Development: Lead the business development teams in creating and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective clients through networking, referrals, and direct prospecting.
- Tender & Bid Management: Oversee the end-to-end tender process, ensuring compliance with specifications and statutory requirements to maximize win rates.
- Key Account Management & Client Retention: Cultivate relationships with top-tier accounts to ensure client satisfaction, contract renewals, and identify additional service opportunities.
- Pricing, Costing & Commercial Governance: Review pricing models and ensure contract terms protect the company's commercial interests.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building: Mentor and manage a high-performing sales team, setting individual and team sales targets while fostering a collaborative sales culture.
- Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth transitions of contracts and represent the company at industry events.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant legislation and maintain ethical sales practices.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
- Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in Facilities Management, hospitality, catering, or related industries.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in winning and growing large multi-service contracts, particularly in the corporate and public sectors.
- Tender Management Experience: Strong background in tender/bid management within the South African procurement environment, including compliance with B-BBEE and public-sector regulations.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in managing and developing a high-performing sales team.
- Travel Requirements: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally.
