Shredder Operator - Aluminium Scrap Operations/Production | Metal Recycling/Scrap Processing | Full-time ROLE SUMMARY We are looking for an experienced shredder operator to safely and efficiently process aluminium scrap using industrial shredding equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the shredder, ensuring consistent throughput, quality output, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. A working knowledge of basic machine maintenance is essential. A background or formal education in mechanical or electrical engineering is a distinct advantage
RESPONSIBILITIES Machine operation Start up, operate, and shut down the industrial shredder per standard operating procedures (SOPs). Material feeding & sorting Sort and inspect incoming aluminium scrap to remove contaminants, hazardous items, and non-conforming materials prior to shreddinc Production monitoring Monitor shredder performance, throughput rates, and output quality, adjust settings to meet production targets. Preventive maintenance Perform routine checks-lubrication, blade inspection, checks, and filter cleaning-and log all activities. Fault identifi Identify, report, and where possible resolve minor mechanical faults; escalate team promptly. Safety & compliance Follow all HSE policies including PPE requirements lockout/tagout procedures, and dust/noise control Record keeping Maintain accurate production logs, mater records rep Housekeeping Keep the shredder area clean, organised, and free of hazards at all times.
