Solum is a global pioneer in Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) technology and IoT digital retail solutions. As we accelerate our enterprise footprint across South Africa’s Tier-1 retail landscape, we are seeking a strategic Business Development & Account Manager based in Sandton.
We welcome both proven B2B retail technology sales experts and insider retail professionals (from Store Development, IT, or Operations) looking to transition their industry expertise into a high-growth corporate commercial career.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture high-level relationships with Key Stakeholders (Retail IT, Operations, Procurement, and Store Development) across Tier-1/Tier-2 South African Retailers.
- Position Solum’s advanced ESL and digital signage portfolios as strategic, ROI-driven solutions.
- Oversee the commercial pipeline from initial demos and store pilots to complex RFPs and national rollouts.
Qualifications & Experience (Highly Preferred)
Profile A (Sales Experts): +5 years of B2B sales or account management experience directly targeting major SA retailers, preferably selling ESL, Digital Signage, POS, or Retail Automation Solutions.
Profile B (Retail Insiders): +5 years of corporate experience WITHIN Tier-1/Tier-2 Retailers (e.g., Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Spar, Massmart, Dis-Chem, Clicks) in:
- Store Development/ Format Management
- Retail IT / Project Management / Price Systems Integration
- Retail Operations / Process Optimization / OPEX Management
- Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven mindset to unlock new revenue streams.
- S.A citizenship
