Role Purpose
To support the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Excellence in driving the design, optimisation, and maintenance of continuous process improvement and standardization initiatives across the Group. The role is responsible for ensuring that procurement systems are effectively configured, maintained, and continuously enhanced to deliver operational efficiency, compliance, and data-driven decision-making. This position also leads process re-engineering, automation, and digital transformation initiatives aimed at optimising procurement performance, strengthening governance, and enhancing the overall user experience across all markets.
Role Description
Contributes towards the overall achievement procurement systems adoption across the group. Maintain and update process documentation and SOPs in line with systems changes / enhancements. Collaborate with business units / markets and suppliers to streamline requisition-to-purchase order (R2PO) and purchase order-to-payment (P2P) processes. Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to streamline procurement workflows and reduce manual interventions. Ensure accurate configuration and maintenance of procurement master data, approval workflows, and reporting dashboards. Monitor and report on system performance, user adoption, and process compliance metrics across the Group.
Design, enhance, and maintain procurement analytics platforms and dashboards by infusing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics to improve forecasting accuracy, spend visibility, and decision intelligence. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis to support cost optimisation, supplier performance improvement, and process efficiency. Ensure alignment of procurement data governance and reporting standards across all markets, in collaboration with group IT and Finance. Generate and distribute periodic procurement performance reports (e.g., spend analysis, supplier performance, compliance metrics, ESG compliance) to key stakeholders.
Actively drive process excellence by embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into procurement and supply chain workflows through automation, digital evaluation tools, and data-driven supplier assessments to ensure sustainability is systematically integrated into all sourcing decisions. Collaborate with stakeholders, i.e. Group Risk and Sustainability teams to drive procurement’s input into ESG risk assessments, including the automation of ESG evaluation and reporting processes.
Ensure all procurement systems, workflows, and approval hierarchies are configured in full alignment with the Group Procurement Policy and governance framework
Support with conducting periodic audits and compliance checks on procurement transactions, system setups, and user access controls to ensure policy alignment
Compliance audits completed on time with 100% resolution of identified gaps within agreed timelines. Collaborate with Group Risk, Legal, and IT to ensure continuous alignment of procurement systems with evolving governance, data protection, and regulatory standards.
Matric or equivalent to NQF Level 4:Essential
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Information Systems, Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, Industrial Engineering, or data related field of study:Essential
Professional certification in procurement or ERP and sourcing systems (e.g., CIPS, MS Dynamics fundamentals / associate level, Google Data Analytics / Advanced Data Analytics, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, CompTIA Data+ or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP): DesirableDesirable
Postgraduate certificate in Project Management or systems engineering:Nice to have
