Medical Billing Clerk / Accounts Administrator
Our client, a well-established private medical practice located within a hospital in Bellville, Northern Suburbs, Cape Town, is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Medical Billing Clerk / Accounts Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and submitting medical aid claims accurately and timeously.
- Managing medical aid accounts and liaising with medical schemes regarding queries, authorisations, rejections, and claim follow-ups.
- Performing debtors and credit control functions, including the collection of outstanding accounts and management of bad debts.
- Ensuring accurate patient billing and account reconciliation.
- Applying and verifying ICD-10 diagnostic and procedure codes.
- Maintaining accurate patient and billing records in accordance with practice procedures.
- Providing administrative support relating to patient accounts and medical aid processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Medical Billing Clerk, Medical Accounts, or similar healthcare administration role.
- Sound knowledge of medical aid billing procedures and medical scheme processes.
- Experience with debtors management, credit control, and bad debt recovery.
- Proficiency in GoodX or MedEDI software.
- Working knowledge and practical experience with ICD-10 coding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.

Remuneration:
Market related and also based on skill and experience.
