Purpose
Responsible for the supervision of the organisation’s vehicle fleet, to produce an efficient running fleet, maximising service, performance, value, and profitability against pre-agreed target.

Duties
· Work with Shift Manager to plan upcoming train discharges & vessel loadings (creating Fleet Lists), including allocated trailers and ensure tracking units are assigned to specific truck reg numbers and collating all driver & owner contact details.
· Onboard every truck on Fleet List as follows (must be completed at least 1 hour prior to commencement):
· Toolbox Talk
· Pre-start inspection for all trucks: train and vessel
· Ensure Mobile Tracking unit installed and confirmed to be operational.
· Confirm Driver contact details for Fleet List
· Shift Change Management (must happen prior to any driver commencing a shift during a Parcel:
· Oversees all trucks, drivers, and related assets e.g. Trailers including their operations.
· Supervise drivers and authorise their time and attendance register.
· Plan daily operations e.g. train and vessel offloading. Making sure minimum of 15 trucks for train and 25 for vessel are available on time.
· Allocate diesel to BMLS and subcontractors trucks using TFN system.
· Assist on breakdowns by liaising with Maintenance.
· Conduct incident reports and submitting them to SHEQ and control room.
· Communicating with TFR (Transnet Rail) for Estimated time of Arrival of train so that resources are scheduled on time.
· Send PODs (proof of delivery) to relevant parties of TFR and Client.
· Submit kilometers of trucks on each shift.
· Update truck list in circulation for Vessel client and on train.
· Manage flow of trucks and coordinate which trucks goes to which vessel.
· Communicate with TDK, Autoforce and Nexus for assistance on vessel when running more than one vessel.
· Prepare detailed Fleet Lists for every parcel at least 24 hours prior to parcel commencement
· Parcel Details (printed out to be placed on trucks) – confirming client, product grade, loading and offloading points, and route Geofencing details.
· Communicating with drivers immediately to correct ill driving.
· Monitoring of turnaround times at loading site / warehouse and working with Warehouse Supervisor to resolve issues when TAT’s exceed acceptable time frames
· Maintain register of delays (times and reasons) for analysis by Production Manager
Skills Required
· 1 to 2 years similar experience as Fleet Supervisor
· Grade 12 or Matric, Logistic Management Diploma or relevant qualification
