- Salary: R110k to R205k per month + benefits (depending on experience)
- Location: Durban, South Africa (On-premise, 5 days a week)
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in software architecture or software engineering.
What You will Do
- Design end‑to‑end architectures for multi‑system initiatives, producing high‑quality artefacts such as decision records, integration diagrams, and delivery strategies.
- Analyse business and system requirements, identifying gaps, risks, and dependencies across teams.
- Evaluate architectural trade‑offs across cost, scalability, feasibility, compliance, and sustainability.
- Provide architectural consulting by reviewing designs, APIs, code, and documentation to ensure alignment with standards.
- Lead inception planning across multiple teams, clarifying responsibilities and integration boundaries.
- Research and prototype emerging technologies, validating feasibility and driving responsible innovation.
- Troubleshoot complex production incidents, contributing to root‑cause analysis and long‑term resilience improvements.
- Mentor engineers, uplifting architectural thinking, design quality, and technical capability.
- Engage with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust architectural outcomes.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Experience
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in software architecture or software engineering.
- Minimum 3 years specialising in solution architecture for complex distributed systems within regulated environments.
