Senior Sales Engineer needed to be responsible for the expansion and sales increase of the various Industry Services with a specific focus on the mining market sector.
You will be responsible to develop, sell, diversify and roll out new and existing services under Engineering services, such as asset integrity management, lifting and in-service inspection (pressure equipment, electrical, etc), non-destructive testing, design review, process safety, Risk & Safety services, cross-selling with laboratory testing and technical centre services, focusing the on-Mining market, from mine to processing plant and to export.
Ideal candidate will have Degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, fluent in English, 3 - 5 years’ experience in the field of business development or sales with general mining services. Have good networks in the mining market sectors, able to analyse markets.
Available and willing to travel within South(ern) Africa.

Primary Purpose:
The incumbent performs the job within the framework of the quality assurance system, the code of ethics and the group policy.
Responsible to develop, sell, diversify, and roll out new and existing services under Engineering services, such as asset integrity management, lifting and in-service inspection (pressure equipment, electrical, etc), non-destructive testing, design review, process safety, risk & safety services, cross-selling with laboratory testing and technical centre services, focusing the on-Mining market, from mine to processing plant and to export.
Implement commercial strategy as per Industry Director / IND BU Manager’s requirements to meet the annual sales objectives and operational KPIs.
Main Responsibilities
To propose, design and implement a sales plan that protects and expands the company’s key accounts, in relation to mining activities,
To gather and analyse commercial information, to build market intelligence, to track competition movements and adjust the annual sales strategic plan,
To ensure highest conversion rate from qualified opportunities pipeline to actual projects award by applying data analysis and evaluating sales trends.
To build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, work with the business development team to roll out framework agreements regionally.
To present industry services to potential clients through direct communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails: likely to spend 80% time out of office interacting with clients.
To create and manage business leads and opportunities on Salesforce; follow-up and prepare monthly sales reporting.
To support incoming enquiries, co-ordinate client meetings and contract / proposals preparation.
Ensure the sales enquiry process is conducted in a timely manner, meets internal procedures and customer satisfaction.
Prepare scope of work and pricing for quotations.
To manage the timely production of contracts and progress their status with the business unit, and to support job closeout processes.
To share minutes of meetings following each client visits with Business Unit Manager, identify cross selling opportunities for the different business lines.
To liaise with Regional / District Business Development manager from other entities to ensure strategic alignment with overall business development effort.
To contribute to marketing activities for brand awareness and oversee the development and maintenance of marketing materials.
Create campaigns and lead the planning and schedule of activities via Salesforce.

Financial Performance:
The Industry Field Sales Engineer contributes to deliver safely any jobs performed by any permanent employee, temporary non-exclusive or freelancer or subcontractor engaged with the company, to prevent any situation or complaint by clients that could concur to a financial claim or financial loss to the Industry Department due to any safety or quality related issue.
Support and contribute to meet overall the industry department financial performance and objectives.
Sales Performance:
The Industry Field Sales Engineer is directly responsible for sales assigned to him/her, in particular in the field of all services related to the mining sector.
The role includes to contribute to promote quality and safety to potential or existing clients and to support the long terms relationship with clients by creating and strengthening trust and confidence that subsequently lead to more opportunities and increased sales numbers.
Organise and attend weekly sales meetings.
Contribute to meet overall the industry department sales performance and objectives.
Operations:
The Industry Field Sales Engineer shall support the operations to deliver with high quality any jobs performed by any employee, freelancer or subcontractor engaged with the company.
Contribute to timely deliver the various jobs to meet or exceed clients’ satisfaction.
Contribute to meet overall the yearly industry department’s objectives and kpis in relation to quality & operational performance.
Resources:
The Industry Field Sales Engineer shall support the operations and human resources teams in the recruitment process of new trained and competent staffs required to deliver the services that are proposed to clients. Anticipation and communication are key to timely identify and train or hire the additional required skills.
Participate in the periodic meetings between operations and HR about needs and training plan, etc.
Contribute to ensure the yearly industry department’s objectives and KPIs are met in relation to resources performance.
Quality & HSSE:
The Industry Field Sales Engineer shall contribute to deliver safely any jobs performed by any employee, freelancer or subcontractor engaged with the company.
Whereas he/she shall encourage to report any near miss (near hit) as well as any unsafe situations, the main objective is zero accident reported.
Attends internal or external audit and assists the management and the operations during any investigation in relation to any quality incident, complaint, or claim, and contribute to the implementation of the corresponding corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA).
Contributes to meet overall the yearly industry department’s objectives and KPIs in relation to quality & operational performance.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Knowledge & Experience
Degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, fluent in English.
3 - 5 years’ experience in delivering industry type services, or
3 - 5 years’ experience in the field of business development or sales with general mining services; industry knowledge is an advantage.
Good knowledge of local legislation and regulations.
Have good networks in the mining market sectors, able to analyse markets.
Knowledge of CRM such as Salesforce is a plus.
Available and willing to travel within South(ern) Africa.
