General Builder (Facilities Maintenance)

We're looking for a reliable General Builder to help maintain our buildings, facilities and surrounding premises, ensuring they're safe, well-maintained and ready to support our teams every day.

About the Role
As our General Builder, you'll carry out a wide range of building maintenance, repair and preventative maintenance tasks across our company premises.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing general building repairs, maintenance and minor construction work.
- Completing basic bricklaying, plastering, painting and drywall repairs.
- Repairing doors, windows, locks, fencing, paving and concrete surfaces.
- Carrying out basic plumbing repairs, including leaking pipes, taps, drains and toilet mechanisms.
- Performing basic non-licensed electrical maintenance such as replacing light fittings and reporting faults.
- Conducting preventative maintenance inspections.
- Maintaining grounds through grass cutting, weed control, tree trimming and external cleaning.
- Installing signage, repairing furniture and completing general carpentry work.
- Responding to emergency maintenance requests when required.
- Following all health, safety and PPE requirements.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is practical, dependable and enjoys working with their hands.
You'll ideally have:
- 2-3 years' experience in general building maintenance, handyman, facilities maintenance or property maintenance.
- Experience working across multiple maintenance disciplines.
- Confidence using hand and power tools safely.
- Good knowledge of building repairs, plumbing, painting and carpentry.
- The ability to identify maintenance issues before they become major problems.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform manual work in varying weather conditions.
Advantageous:
- Experience maintaining commercial, industrial or office buildings.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes.
- Grounds maintenance experience.
- Valid Code B driver's licence.
- Experience working with contractors and service providers.
