Sportsmans Warehouse, part of the Holdsport Group, is a national sporting goods retail chain with stores across South Africa.
We are looking for a numerate and driven graduate to join our Footwear and Apparel team as a Trainee Planner, based at our Head Office in Cape Town CBD. This is a developmental role and no prior planning experience is required. The position reports directly to the Merchandise Executive.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in retail planning and analytics
- Good numerical and analytical ability
- Attention to detail and sound organisational skills
- Clear and professional communicator (written and verbal), and a strong team player
- Eager to learn and comfortable working under guidance in a fast-moving retail environment
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with stock planning and allocation
- Supporting sales analysis and forecasting
- Assisting with product placement and promotional displays under guidance
- Monitoring inventory turnover and providing input on stock rotation
Requirements
- BCom or an equivalent degree in supply chain management, retail management, business management or a comparable numerate discipline (essential)
- No prior planning experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel will be an advantage
- Exposure to data analysis or stock handling will be beneficial
