Architectural / Technical Draughtsman
Joinery & Kitchen Manufacturing
Location: Kuilsrivier, Western Cape
We are a well-established manufacturer of high-end kitchens and bespoke joinery solutions, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural / Technical Draughtsman to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in translating architectural concepts into accurate manufacturing and installation drawings while supporting the full project lifecycle from tender through to production and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender & Quotation Support
- Produce accurate technical drawings to support tender submissions and quotation processes.
- Prepare detailed finishing specification sheets, including materials, hardware and finishes.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Design teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect client requirements and approved concepts.
- Obtain and coordinate third-party quotations (stone, glass, hardware and other specialist suppliers).
- Manage drawing revisions and document control throughout the tender process.
Production & Manufacturing
- Prepare detailed shop drawings for production.
Generate production documentation including:
a. Cutting lists
b. Quantity take-offs
c. Article overviews
d. Elevations and floor plans
e. Assembly drawings
f. Installation details
g. Ensure drawings are practical, accurate and aligned with manufacturing capabilities and production timelines.
h. Maintain revision control and ensure all production documentation remains current.
Site & Installation Support
- Conduct site surveys and verify measurements.
- Assess site conditions that may influence production or installation.
- Update drawings to reflect approved site changes.
- Conduct quality spot checks during and after installation to ensure finished products meet design intent and quality standards.
General Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for custom joinery and kitchen projects.
- Convert architectural concepts into detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare material specifications and hardware schedules.
- Collaborate with Design, Sales, Production and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential design, manufacturing or installation challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, technical specifications and industry best practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting standards, drawing libraries and documentation processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Architectural Draughting, Interior Design, Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience within the kitchen manufacturing, cabinetry, shopfitting or custom joinery industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
- Working knowledge of IMOS (advantage).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings, production processes and installation methods.
- Experience preparing shop drawings, cutting lists and production documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to attend site visits when required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within high-end residential kitchens and bespoke joinery.
- Knowledge of cabinet construction methods, materials, hardware and finishes.
- Familiarity with production planning and manufacturing environments.

Pay: Up to R24 000,00 per month
