Duties & Responsibilities
Depot Operations
- Assists the Depot Manager to ensure that the Depot, dry and reefer cargo (empty and full), is fully functional and operational
- Controls variable expenditure within the depot operations
- Ensures serviceability of all handling equipment, empty and full
- Maintains and controls security requirements at the depot
Administration and Compliance
- Controls and meets the contractual agreements with clients, regulatory authorities / bodies
- Ensures effective administration procedures related to Depot operations
Health/Safety and Risk Management
- Maintains and controls security requirements for depot equipment and valuable asset
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment and ensures compliance with the safety regulations or standards
People Management
- Ensure that all depot employees are adequately trained
- Ensures that KPI’s are set and managed accordingly for all employees
- Ensures that the depot is adequately resourced
- Ensures that all policies and procedures are communicated
- Any disciplinary matters are dealt with effectively
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience Required for this position
- Relevant qualifications will be advantageous
- 5- 10 years of Shipping and Logistics Experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience essential.
