Sewing Machine Operator
Job Summary
We are seeking an attentive and skilled Sewing Machine Operator to construct, alter, and assemble high-quality garments and textile products. You will operate industrial or specialty sewing machines, follow patterns, and maintain strict quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.
- Operate Machinery: Safely operate single-needle, double-needle, sergers, or computerized industrial sewing machines.
- Fabric Assembly: Cut, pin, and stitch fabrics according to design specifications, patterns, or work orders.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products on the fly for defective stitching, thread breaks, or machine malfunctions, and make on-the-spot adjustments.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform basic daily maintenance, including changing needles, oiling machines, and replacing bobbins.
- Finishing: Trim excess threads, attach accessories
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist or Sewing Machine Operator
- Solid understanding of various fabrics (cotton, wool, leather, or industrial textiles) and sewing techniques.
- High attention to detail and ability to read and interpret patterns.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and the stamina to perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment faults.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R6 000,00 - R80 000,00 per month
