We are seeking an experienced and motivated Internal Audit Supervisor to join our team, with a primary focus on auditing municipal clients. This position requires regular travel.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, supervise and execute internal audit assignments.
- Lead audit teams and review audit working papers.
- Draft comprehensive cycle internal audit reports.
- Assess internal controls, governance and risk-management processes.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical improvements.
- Attend and participate in Audit Committee meetings.
- Engage professionally with municipal clients and key stakeholders.
- Ensure audit assignments meet agreed deadlines and quality standards.
Minimum requirements:
- A Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree.
- Previous experience working as an Internal Audit Supervisor for a consulting firm or AG, providing internal audit services in line with the MFMA
- Sound knowledge of applicable municipal legislation.
- Proven experience attending and participating in Audit Committee meetings.
- Demonstrated experience drafting cycle internal audit reports.
- Strong knowledge of internal audit principles, internal controls, governance and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing, leadership and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- A valid driver’s licence.
