Auto Electrician - Earth Moving Equipment

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
With a direct reporting to the Assistant Field Service Manager, this position has full responsibility for auto electrical maintenance and repairs on all Manitou and affiliated Material handling equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to
Electrical maintenance requirements.
· Attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and over-inspection reports.
· Perform equipment over-inspection on work done by apprentices and operatives where appropriate and provide feedback and guidance as required.
· Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the workshop manager.
· Provide relevant feedback to the workshop manager and co-workers regarding equipment performance and conditions.
· Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all equipment within Area of
Responsibility.
· Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedures.
· Adhere to all Manitou policies and procedures.
· Perform all functions included in the above duties and responsibilities with due regard to the health, safety and the environmental guidelines provided by Manitou SA.
· Must be willing to work overtime, on standby or when required to work without supervision.
EDUCATION:
· Grade 12/N3
· Recognized Auto Electrical Trade Certificate.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Product Knowledge.
· Operator Competency on all Manitou related equipment and machines.
EXPERIENCE:
· A minimum of 3 years previous experience in the auto electrical field is essential
· Proven experience in off-road Telehandler’s, skid steer forklift and access equipment or affiliated product
· Advantages
-be able to design electrical systems for attachments and special solutions.
- be familiar with a design computer application.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
· Good verbal and written communication in English.
· Independent, proactive thinker and required to have the ability to perform own job planning.
· Analytical with attention to detail.
· Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
· Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
· Computer literate on word and excel to complete reports on faults and be able to complete job cards
LOCATION & EXPECTED TRAVEL:
· This position is based in Proton Industrial Park, Chloorkop, South Africa.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From R35 000,00 per month
