Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as an Autism Practitioner at Sensing Autism. As an Autism Practitioner, we're looking for a warm-hearted and dedicated Practitioner to join our team at Sensing Autism for In-Home and School Facilitations!
As an Autism Practitioner, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and their families, helping them thrive and reach their full potential. You won't be thrown into the deep end; instead, you'll receive comprehensive support plans tailored to each child, which you'll implement with care and dedication.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, Inclusive Education, or related fields.
- Previous experience working with children.
- General understanding of developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building meaningful connections with children, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and creativity to adapt interventions to meet each child's unique needs.
- Knowledge of sensory processing difficulties and experience in creating sensory-friendly environments is a plus.
- Valid Driver's License and own reliable car (Essential).
- Fluent in English (Essential).
Key Responsibilities
- Implement creative and engaging strategies tailored to each child's needs and preferences.
- Utilise communication aids, sensory-friendly activities, and visual schedules to support individualised care plans.
- Provide clear expectations and organised routines to create a supportive environment.
- Ensure consistency and structure to help children feel comfortable and secure.
- Support children in developing everyday life skills, socialization, and communication abilities.
- Maintain open communication channels in decision-making processes.
- Ensure sensory-friendly spaces that accommodate individual needs.
- Attend workshops and training sessions for continuous professional development.

- Collaborate closely with school personnel to ensure students receive necessary assistance and modifications for academic and social success.
- Implement strategies to support students' academic and social achievements, empowering each child to reach their full potential.
- Prioritise collaboration with supervisors, families, and other professionals involved in the children's care.
- Provide encouragement to children as you work together to build essential life skills and foster independence.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to supervisors.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging for all individuals involved.
