Job Description
Leads the engagement team on smaller engagements and supports engagement team in delivery of ESG reporting and assurance services on larger engagements to/ at client premises through:

Performs planning procedures for smaller engagements and assists supervisor and manager in these tasks for larger engagements

Attending in site visits to gather evidence
-
Leading client meetings in terms of planning and close out at a site level

Engaging with the client to obtain an understanding of the process and activities on allocated subject matters
-
Performing testing procedures (inspection, observation, reperformance, recalculation) on the allocated subject matter reported, including data analytics
-
Identifies issues and provides possible solutions
-
Reporting of issues identified in written format together with recommendations
-
Performs completion procedures for smaller engagements and assists supervisor and manager in these tasks for larger engagements

Contributes to decisions by engagement team in terms of approach by providing fact-based and pertinent recommendations from research / analysis / client interaction

Provides on the job training to junior team member in relation to the engagement

Communicates regularly with supervisor and or manager on status of allocated deliverables

Responds with urgency and accountability to client and team requests

Assists in preparation of client presentations / discussion documentation as directed

Identifies possible opportunities for follow-on work and advise manager/partner
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
-
Degree in commerce (accounting/ finance/economics), chemical engineering, social sciences, sciences, geography, geology (or similar)
-
Courses/ Electives covering technical knowledge and elements of sustainability and related reporting frameworks.
Minimum Experience
-
2 years work experience in sustainability reporting, assurance or technical subject matter
Technical Competencies

Project management skills

Proficient in MS Office suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Able to understand and articulate ESG and sustainability and how it integrates into broader business, operations and decision making

Strong attention to details and accuracy

Proficient verbal and written skills

Technical knowledge in specific areas of ESG and sustainability - desired

Familiarity and experience with ESG reporting frameworks

Experience in conducting ESG assurance engagement - desired
