The Cape Peninsula Organisation for the Aged (CPOA) has been providing quality care and services to older persons for over 70 years. We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dynamic Care Manager (Registered Nurse) to lead our nursing team at Quadrant Gardens, one of our flagship retirement facilities situated in Claremont.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about delivering person-centred care while managing the day-to-day operations of a busy care centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing and care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care.
- Ensure compliance with SANC regulations, applicable legislation, and CPOA policies and procedures.
- Oversee resident admissions, assessments, care planning, and ongoing clinical reviews.
- Monitor residents' health and ensure that nursing care is delivered in accordance with professional standards.
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage staffing, duty rosters, leave planning, agency staff, performance management, and staff development.
- Investigate incidents, complaints, and clinical risks, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Oversee the implementation and effective use of the DigiAge system.
- Manage administrative functions, including monthly reporting, audits, staff meetings, and statutory documentation.
- Monitor budgets, occupancy levels, stock control, and operational expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control, health and safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Registered Nurse registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A minimum of 5 years' nursing experience, preferably within an elderly care or frail care environment.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a healthcare facility.
- Sound knowledge of elderly care, clinical governance, and nursing best practices.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and people management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy with sound administrative and report-writing skills.
- A valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
