Key Purpose
To manage security systems optimally within the Discovery control rooms nationally. To further oversee guarding complement, to ensure effective security measures exists throughout Discovery and all risks are managed effectively. To coordinate all tenant access to the Discovery buildings.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
- Conduct and report on investigations related to security incidents and risks in all regional offices.
- Manage security policies, protocols and procedures through development and review all associated risks at offices nationally.
- Training and induction for all buildings nationally and for each job role per contract.
- Manage all security and associated service level agreements with service providers.
- Reassess guarding complements for all offices nationally.
- Assist in management and maintenance of electronic security systems and equipment in all offices.
- Conduct regular meetings with security service providers to ensure optimal continuous relationships and timeous resolutions of issues.
- Full line management function relating to Discovery employees reporting into this role.
- Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.
- Create management reports and stats.
- Audit tenant and contingent worker access quarterly.
- Liaison between Corporate Services, Discovery People and Line Management on the divisions security processes to ensure that the correct standards are applied and agreed processes are followed.
Education and Experience
- Matric
- Diploma in Security Management / qualification advantageous
- Professional registration required PSIRA Grade A
- Security policies and procedures
- Essential experience in relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV) around security systems
- MS Office Intermediate
- statistical data analysis
- 5 years’ experience as a Security Manager or similar position
- Driver’s license
