MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· NQF Level 5, 6 or 7 qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related technical field.
· Relevant qualifications may include a Higher Certificate or National Certificate in Electronic Security Systems or Electrical Engineering; National Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; Diploma in IT or Computer Systems; BEngTech or BTech Electrical/Electronic Engineering; or BSc IT.
· PSIRA registration is required.
· A valid wireman’s licence or ECSA registration will be advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee IP CCTV systems, VMS platforms, control-room integration, storage and footage-retention design.
· Manage card and biometric access control, turnstiles, boom gates and visitor-management systems.
· Oversee alarm panels, perimeter beams, intrusion zoning and signal monitoring.
· Manage electric fencing, radar and thermal perimeter-detection systems.
· Supervise installations and preventative-maintenance schedules, including fault logging and response times.
· Manage project commissioning, as-built documentation, warranties and technical SLAs.
· Ensure appropriate network and power support, including fibre, PoE, UPS and solar-backed installations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Practical experience with CCTV installation and integration, IP camera systems and VMS platforms.
· Experience with biometric and card-based access control, turnstiles, boom gates and visitor-management systems.
· Experience with alarms, intrusion detection, electric fencing and perimeter security.
· Exposure to radar or thermal detection technology.
· Experience in preventative maintenance, fault management, commissioning and technical project delivery.
· Experience preparing as-built documentation and managing warranties and SLAs.
· Experience with fibre networks, PoE, UPS systems and solar-supported installations.
· Experience in high-security environments will be advantageous.
