STOREMAN AND STOCK CONTROLLER: GAUTENG (BASED IN PRETORIA)
BACKGROUND
Youngman Roofing, a leading supplier of high-quality roofing and insulation products, is looking for a suitably experienced individual to join the Group as a Storeman/Stock Controller. The individual will be responsible for ensuring optimum stock levels are maintained at all times for the product lines under his/her responsibility, as well as ensuring correct storage of stock as per company protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Procurement/Orders
- Ensure optimum stock levels are maintained at all times and reorder from preferred suppliers well in advance as stock levels decrease
- Efficiently source suppliers as needed
- Ensure adequate stock is purchased to avoid shortages
- Inform the management team of price changes in stock that could affect budgets
- Maintain good relations with suppliers and develop and maintain a database of all supplier information
- Ensure ordered stock is received and personally check delivered stock for correct quality and quantities against invoices
- Handle all relevant documentation associated with orders and goods received
- Continuously monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and lead times
- Return incorrect or faulty stock to suppliers and follow up on late orders
Stock Management
- Control stores in terms of stock and staff, ensuring proper procedures are in place and adhered to
- Conduct random stock counts on certain items
- Maintain proper record-keeping practices
- Responsible for annual year-end stock takes and submission of information to the Finance Department
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies and variances
- Bring abnormal wastage and stock shortages to management’s attention
Stores Administration
- Ensure administrative control of stock by generating purchase orders from the accounting software
- Forward GRVs and delivery notes to the accounts department timely
- Capture supplier delivery notes onto the stores system daily and ensure necessary authorized signatures are present on documentation.
- Reconcile physical inventory with the accounts department
- Report and investigate all discrepancies
Order Picking and Delivery
- Responsible for picking orders and ensuring collection or delivery occurs
- Keep proper records of all transactions, including Picking Slips, Delivery Notes, and PODs.
Health and Safety
- Adhere to all safety procedures when operating machinery
- Report any deviations from safety standards or relevant uncertainties to the manager
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 or equivalent
Qualification in stock control advantageous
Computer literate
Forklift license and Drivers License
Minimum 5 years in Stock Control with Stock Management Software experience.
